Preparations Reviewed for President Droupadi Murmu’s Shimla Visit from April 27

Shimla, April 20: A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap to review preparations for the proposed visit of President Droupadi Murmu to Shimla from April 27 to May 2, 2026.
The President will stay at The Retreat Shimla during her visit. The District Magistrate directed all departments to complete arrangements within the stipulated time and ensure flawless coordination.
Instructions were issued to keep Annadale and Kalyani helipads ready, improve road conditions from the airport to The Retreat, and ensure cleanliness in surrounding areas. Departments were also asked to ensure uninterrupted water supply, conduct fire safety audits, deploy 24×7 medical teams with ambulances, and maintain strict food safety checks.
Senior officials from police, adminstration, and various departments attended the meeting to ensure smooth execution of the high-profile visit.
