More than 30 participants, including women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and local micro and small entrepreneurs, attended the workshop. The programme focused on enhancing digital business skills and expanding market opportunities for rural enterprises.
During the first session, participants were introduced to digital tools such as social media platforms, WhatsApp Business, digital payment systems and online marketing techniques. Experts also provided guidance on budgeting, cash-flow management, banking services and government credit schemes, emphasizing the importance of maintaining financial records and adopting digital transactions.
The second session focused on the GeM portal and its Common Procurement Portal (CPP) module. Resource persons explained how MSMEs, SHGs and startups can directly supply products and services to government departments through the platform, ensuring transparency, wider market access and timely payments.
A hands-on registration drive was also conducted, enabling several women entrepreneurs and SHG members to create seller profiles and complete onboarding procedures on the GeM portal. Department officials assisted participants in resolving technical issues related to registration.
Officials stated that such outreach programmes under the RAMP initiative play a crucial role in integrating rural entrepreneurs into the mainstream economy and helping local products gain visibility in national markets through digital platforms.
Participants described the workshop as highly informative and beneficial, providing practical knowledge to strengthen their businesses and access government procurement opportunities.
