Nodal Officers Appointed for Panchayat Elections in Hamirpur

Hamirpur, May 2: To ensure the smooth, free, fair, and transparent conduct of Panchayati Raj elections in the district, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (Panchayat) Gandharva Rathore has appointed nodal officers at the district level.

As per the orders, the Superintendent of Police, Hamirpur, has been designated as the nodal officer for maintaining law and order, ensuring compliance with the Model Code of Conduct, and providing adequate security arrangements at polling stations, counting centres, and strong rooms.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner will serve as the nodal officer for the media cell, while the District Public Relations Officer will disseminate necessary information and updates to the media.

For monitoring election-related processes and facilitating communication of important information, a control room has been set up in the office of the District Panchayat Officer. The Assistant Commissioner to the Deputy Commissioner has been appointed as its nodal officer, with the District Audit Officer of the Panchayati Raj Department overseeing arrangements.

The District Informatics Officer will handle data uploading and IT-related arrangements, while the Tehsildar (Election) has been designated as the nodal officer for conducting training sessions for polling and counting staff.

The District Election Officer has directed all nodal officers to strictly adhere to the guidelines of the State Election Commission to ensure a peaceful and efficient electoral process.
