Nauni’s PHET centre bags exhibitor award

The All India Coordinated Research Project on Post Harvest Engineering and Technology (AICRP-PHET) at Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, bagged the third position for the Outstanding Exhibitor Award during the recent Industry Interface Fair on Agro-Processing and Food Processing Fair (CIPHET IIFA-2024) organised at Ludhiana.

The award was presented by Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale, Director of ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana, and received by Er. Atul Dhiman, Co-Principal Investigator of AICRP-PHET, along with Tajender Kumar from the Department of Food Science and Technology. The event saw participation from over 25 research and development institutes, universities and food processing industries, showcasing their innovative products and technologies.

Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Principal Investigator of PHET and Head of the Department of Food Science and Technology, shared that the centre showcased a range of products, including value-added offerings from fruits and vegetables, millet-based products and functional foods.

Experts, including Dr. Sukhpal Singh, Chairman of the Punjab State Farmer Commission and Dr. Rajesh Kumar Vishwakarma, Project Coordinator-PHET, praised the university’s innovative carbonated apple beverages, highlighting their potential to transform the fruit processing industry and benefit both consumers and farmers. University Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel and other statutory officers extended their congratulations to the team for this outstanding achievement.
