Meeting of Nasha Nivaran Committee Held at Shimla

A meeting of the Nasha Nivaran Committee was held today on 20.09.2026 under the Chairmanship of Sanjeev Gupta, Tehsildar Shimla (Rural).
The meeting was attended by the Ward Councillor and other reputed members of the ward. Detailed deliberations were held on the increasing incidence of drug addiction in BCS area, which has been identified as a Red Zone for drug addiction.
The following important decisions were taken in the meeting:
1. A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) shall be issued to all coaching institutes operating in the BCS area.
2. CCTV cameras shall be installed in all Paying Guest (PG) accommodations in the area.
3. CCTV cameras shall also be installed in front of the main gate of all coaching institutes for effective surveillance.
4. Regular and effective police patrolling on a 24×7 basis shall be ensured in the area.
The Committee appealed to all parents to extend full cooperation to the Committee and the Police to make the area drug-free and to secure the future of the youth.
