District-Level Marathon Organised Under Youth Day Campaign
Shimla, 20 September 2026:
A District-Level Marathon was organised on 20 September 2026 (Sunday) under the Youth Day Campaign, being observed from 12 August to 12 October, by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Shimla, in collaboration with the District AIDS Programme Officer (DAPO), Shimla.
A total of 10 colleges participated in the marathon, with eight students from each college, comprising 40 boys and 40 girls. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various colleges across the district.
The marathon was organised with the objective of promoting physical fitness, healthy lifestyles and youth participation, while also creating awareness regarding HIV/AIDS prevention, education and responsible health practices among young people.
In the girls’ category, RKMV Shimla secured the first, second and third positions. In the boys’ category, Kotshera College, Shimla secured the first, second and third positions.
The event concluded successfully with active participation and cooperation from the students, Nodal Officers and participating institutions. The marathon served as an important platform to promote fitness, health awareness, HIV/AIDS awareness and meaningful youth engagement in the district.
