JUIT Hosts Workshop on Psychological First Aid for Faculty and Staff

Solan, May 05: The Student Services Centre at Jaypee University of Information Technology organized a workshop on Psychological First Aid for faculty and staff on May 2, 2026, at the Digital Learning Centre. The session aimed to equip participants with essential skills to support individuals experiencing psychological distress within the campus community.

The workshop was led by Ms. Divya Sehgal, who introduced key principles such as empathy, active listening, and timely intervention. Through interactive discussions and scenario-based learning, participants were trained to identify signs of distress and offer appropriate initial support while maintaining professional boundaries.

The session also emphasized the need to foster a supportive campus environment in light of increasing academic and personal pressures faced by students. Participants appreciated the practical relevance of the workshop.

The Student Services Centre reaffirmed its commitment to promoting mental well-being and announced plans to continue organizing similar initiatives in the future.
