DC Anupam Kashyap Reviews Poll Preparedness via VC in Shimla

Shimla: District Election Officer (Panchayat) and Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap reviewed preparations for upcoming local body and Panchayati Raj elections through a video conference with SDMs and Block Development Officers.

He directed officials to ensure error-free conduct of elections and strictly follow guidelines issued by the State Election Commission Himachal Pradesh. Election material distribution is scheduled for May 9–10, and officers were asked to ensure secure storage arrangements.

The DC instructed installation of CCTV cameras at all counting centres and webcasting at least one polling station in each area, prioritizing sensitive booths. He also emphasized setting up alternative power arrangements in remote counting centres.

Officials informed that no complaints have been received regarding voter lists, sector officers have been deployed, control rooms established, and initial training for election staff has been completed.

Senior officials including Sachin Sharma and Pankaj Sharma were present during the meeting.
