Shimla, August 30, 2025: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur launched a scathing attack on the Sukhu government citing the CAG Report 2023–24. He alleged that despite central funds, the state government failed to utilize ₹1024 crore, terming it injustice to the people of Himachal. Thakur accused the Chief Minister of misleading claims about reading and preparing the “most comprehensive budget,” pointing out that even supplementary allocations worth ₹711 crore remained unspent. He highlighted that funds for 40 projects saw zero expenditure, while utilization certificates for ₹2795 crore across 2990 projects were never submitted.
Thakur further demanded transparency on the recent Manimahesh disaster, claiming eyewitness accounts and videos suggest far greater loss of life and property than official figures. He criticized the government’s alleged mismanagement, poor relief, and communication failures, urging the Chief Minister to clarify the truth behind people’s accusations.
