Mandi, Sept 17: On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur participated in various programs in Mandi and Sundernagar. He lauded Modi’s historic tenure, describing it as an era of economic growth, technological advancement, and India’s rise as the world’s 4th largest economy.

Thakur noted landmark reforms including Article 370 abrogation, the Ram Mandir construction, Atal Tunnel, and expansion of infrastructure connecting remote regions. He emphasized Modi’s commitment to Himachal, highlighting special state status benefits and disaster relief aid.

As part of the celebrations, a blood donation camp, “Namo Run Marathon,” and an exhibition on Modi’s life and service were organized. A special Yagya was also performed for the well-being of the Prime Minister and protection of the state from natural disasters.

Thakur accused the state government of mismanaging disaster relief funds, questioning the utilization of over ₹5,500 crore received from the Centre. He urged transparency and demanded that area-specific funds be spent only on affected regions like Dharampur, Chamba, and Kullu.
