HP PM Shri Schools Students and Teachers Undertake Educational Tour of Gujarat

Shimla: A 66-member group of students and teachers from PM Shri schools in Himachal Pradesh undertook a five-day educational tour of Gujarat under the *Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Student-Teacher Exchange Programme.

The delegation included students and teachers from PM Shri schools in Shimla, Sirmaur, Una, Kinnaur and Solan districts. Meritorious students excelling in academics, NCC and EBSB activities were selected for the tour. The group was led by EBSB nodal officers Varsha Sood, Ranjana Chauhan and Nandini Kanwar of Samagra Shiksha.

The participants visited several historical, cultural, scientific and heritage sites, including the Statue of Unity at Ekta Nagar (Kevadia), where they learned about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and his contribution to the freedom movement and national integration. At Sabarmati Ashram, students learned about Mahatma Gandhi’s life and his principles of truth, non-violence and Swadeshi.

At Gujarat Science City, students explored scientific exhibits and interactive activities, gaining practical exposure to science, innovation and technology. They also visited the **Auto World Vintage Car Museum, Akshardham Temple and Adalaj Stepwell**, gaining insights into India’s automotive heritage, cultural traditions, architecture and traditional water-conservation practices.

The delegation also visited two local PM Shri schools to learn about their educational facilities and practices. The tour provided participants an opportunity to experience Gujarat’s culture, traditions, language, cuisine and lifestyle firsthand.

State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Rajeev Kumar congratulated the students and teachers, saying such exchange programmes help students understand India’s diversity and strengthen the spirit of unity in diversity.
