Free Health Camp in Dudhalti Benefits Around 250 Residents

Shimla, August 27, 2026: Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh said the Himachal Pradesh government is working to strengthen healthcare services and provide people with access to modern medical facilities.

Singh was the chief guest at a free health check-up camp organised at Dudhalti in Shimla Rural by Lions Club Shimla in association with Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, Shimla. Around 250 people received free medical consultations, medicines and blood tests.

Specialist doctors from the hospital provided consultations in ophthalmology, medicine, orthopaedics, gynaecology, surgery and dermatology.

The minister highlighted ongoing efforts to equip hospitals with modern medical technology and fill vacant posts of doctors, paramedical staff and technicians. He also said the government plans to introduce a health insurance scheme offering coverage of up to ₹10 lakh for poor and needy families.

Calling such camps valuable for community health awareness, Singh encouraged regular initiatives that help people detect health concerns early and become more conscious of preventive healthcare.
