DC Manmohan Sharma Inspects Integrated Farming Clusters at Skloda and Kandaghat

Emphasis on Training, Technical Support and Strengthening Livelihoods of Women SHG Members

Solan, August 18, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Solan Manmohan Sharma inspected the Integrated Farming Clusters (IFCs) at Skloda and Kandaghat on Tuesday to review their current status and assess preparations for their effective operation.

During the inspection, Sharma directed the concerned officials to ensure the necessary infrastructure, training and technical support so that the Integrated Farming Cluster centres can be made fully operational at the earliest. He emphasised that the facilities should directly benefit women associated with Cluster-Level Federations and Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to provide women associated with the Cluster-Level Federations with practical training in the operation and management of IFCs, including production, processing, packaging and marketing. He said such capacity-building would enable women to manage cluster activities more effectively and strengthen their livelihood opportunities.

Sharma said strengthening the livelihoods of women associated with Self-Help Groups and Cluster-Level Federations is a priority for the district administration. He noted that Integrated Farming Clusters can play an important role in improving the utilisation of local agricultural and allied products, adding value to them and creating better marketing opportunities, thereby increasing women’s income.

He said the primary objective of Integrated Farming Clusters is to ensure optimal utilisation of available resources and enhance the income of farmers, horticulturists and livestock rearers.

The Deputy Commissioner urged more rural residents to make use of the facilities and opportunities available through the Integrated Farming Clusters and contribute to strengthening the local rural economy.
