CM assures all possible assistance to cloudburst-affected families of Boh Valley

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today telephonically spoke from Shimla to Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, who visited the cloudburst-affected areas of Boh Valley in Kangra district to take stock of the devastation caused by the calamity. He also interacted with the affected families over the phone.
The Deputy Chief Whip apprised the Chief Minister that on his directions, the district administration had provided immediate relief of Rs. 25,000 along with daily essential item kits to 19 families whose houses were completely damaged and Rs. 10,000 each to 17 families whose houses had been partially damaged. He informed that the cloudburst had caused extensive damage to both public and private property. He also urged the Chief Minister to ensure the early restoration of roads, drinking water supply and other essential services in the affected areas.
The Chief Minister said that the state government stands firmly with the cloudburst-affected families and assured them of all possible assistance. He said the state government would restore the essential services in the affected areas on priority.
Sh. Sukhu said that he would soon visit the cloudburst-affected areas to personally assess the extent of the damage. He also appealed to the people to remain vigilant in view of the forecast of heavy rainfall over the coming days.
