CM announces drainage schemes for Una Town and surrounding villages

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, while addressing a massive public meeting at Una today, announced to conduct a survey for the construction of bypass for Una town. He also announced drainage scheme for Una town, Santoshgarh, Sanoli, Veenebaal, Poona, Malukpur and Majra village, expansion of Lift Irrigation Scheme, Bhavaur Sahib and construction of sewage scheme for Lower Araniala, Malahat, Rampur and Rakkar adjacent to the district headquarters.

He said that after independence, the biggest solar project of the state was going to come up in district Una. The previous BJP government announced to build PGI satellite centre at Una but failed to take it forward, said the Chief Minister, adding that  the present government ensured environmental clearance for this project within a week and started the construction work of the same. Due to the earnest efforts of the present government, the construction of Bulk Drug Park is in progress and it will provide employment opportunities to about 10 thousand youth of the area and thus both the projects will pave the  path of prosperity. He reiterated that Himachal Pradesh will become self-reliant in next four years.

It was a historic moment for Hamirpur parliamentary constituency as both Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister represent the State from this area, he said.  “We have faced the challenges together and also overcame them with mutual efforts” said he. The state was under 75 thousand crore debt and the government brought a white paper in the Assembly on the financial mismanagement of the previous government presented by the Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri.

During the tenure of the previous BJP government, the recruitment of JOA (IT) remained stalled. We pursued the cases in the Supreme Court in the favour of the State and the results of post codes 817 and 939 will be declared soon, said Sh. Sukhu. He lashed out at BJP for giving shelter to corrupt practises and scams of sorts during their regime, which includes the cryptocurrency scam of Rs 2500 crore, mining scam of Rs 100 crore, police recruitment scam etc. During the BJP regime the Staff Selection Commission, Hamirpur, became a hub of corruption wherein question papers were sold. He alleged that for four years the BJP government just remained a mute spectator on all irregularities happening within the State.

We are going to constitute a new body named as a State Selection Commission, which will work in transparent manner ensuring fair-play in job selection criteria of youth, he remarked.

He said that 10 thousand posts would be filled in the Jal Shakti Department. Besides, seven thousand teachers, two thousand forest guards and 1226 police posts were going to be filled in this fiscal for which the process has been started.  The women will be provided 30 per cent reservation in police recruitment, he said.

The Chief Minister said that despite the economic crisis, the state government reinstated the old pension scheme for 1.36 lakh government employees, so that they can lead a respectable life. Along with this, a comprehensive change is being made in education. From the next academic session, English language will be introduced in all government schools from class one and clusters of schools within a radius of 300 meters will be formed, besides ensuring that all the posts of teachers were filled.

We have fulfilled three out of ten guarantees. The first phase of Rs 680 crore  Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme has been started. Under the scheme, 50 percent subsidy will be provided to youth on purchase of e-taxi. Apart from this, soon we are going to start a scheme of 40 percent subsidy to the youth on the installation of solar projects ranging from 100 KW to 1 MW, said Sh. Sukhu.

The Chief Minister said 16 thousand houses were damaged in Himachal Pradesh due to the disaster caused by heavy rains and landslides recently. We provided special package of  Rs 4500 crore to the disaster affected and enhanced the relief norms. The compensation for a completely damaged house has been increased five and a half times to Rs 7 lakh from Rs 1.30 lakh. Free electricity, ration, LPG was also being provided to the disaster affected, besides cement bag at Rs 280.

The Chief Minister also elaborated about the Sukh Aashray Yojna and other flagship schemes being implemented in the State.

He said that the BJP didn’t support the resolution in the Assembly to declare the Natural Calamity in Himachal Pradesh as a National Disaster.  He said that all the three BJP MPs from the state didn’t bother and advocated for a special package from the Central government.

He distributed tablets to 25 meritorious students of 10th, 12th and college level in Himachal Pradesh during the financial year 2021-22 under Shri Niwas Ramanujan Student Digital Scheme. This year tablets are being distributed to a total of 10552 meritorious students in the district. Apart from this, he also distributed certificates to 10 orphan children under the Chief Minister Sukh Aashraya Yojana

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that a new milestone has been added in the history of Una, adding that the 32 MW Solar Plant, was the first such plant in the State which will generate an annual income of Rs. 27.71 crore and will be capable of producing electricity for the next 25 years.

Mukesh Agnihotri said that around 10 thousand posts would be filled in the Jal Shakti Department soon. He appealed to the opposition to support the state government in the development of Himachal Pradesh and the welfare of its people. He credited Sh. Sukhu for getting the environmental clearance for a PGI Hospital at Una.

He said that the battle for Lok Sabha elections has started and BJP will be defeated in Himachal. He said that with the blessings of the public, Congress will win all four Lok Sabha seats from Himachal.
