Celebrating talent beyond classrooms: Shoolini Freshers showcased creativity and cultural diversity

Shoolini University hosted the Freshers’ Got Talent Contest, allowing newly admitted students to showcase their talents. The event received an encouraging response, with students participating in singing and dance competitions.
The auditions were organised by the Raag Rang and Saksham Clubs. Students took the stage before a packed audience and presented performances in solo and duet categories.
A special Naati performance by the Himshobla Club added a cultural element to the event. It was supported by live music and singing by members of the Raag Rang Club, bringing a traditional Himachali performance to the campus stage.
In the Solo Dance category, Chirag from BSc Biotechnology won the competition, while Somya from BBA in CS and Entrepreneurship was the runner-up. In the Duet Dance category, Rishima and Gunjeeta from BBA Analytics secured first place, while Kamaakhya and Karishma from BTech Biotechnology (SRP) were the runners-up.
The Singing Competition also saw participation from students across different programmes. In the Solo Singing category, Abhigyaan from BTech Biotechnology was declared the winner, while Piyanshi Pandey from BSc Biotechnology Dual Degree (University of Melbourne) secured the runner-up position. In the Duet Singing category, Kamakshi from BSc Psychology and Nemita from BTech Bioinformatics emerged as the winners.
Mrs Poonam Nanda, Director, Sustainability, Shoolini University, said, “Freshers’ Got Talent allowed our new students to express themselves and share their talents with the university community. Such platforms helped students build confidence, develop connections and take part in campus life beyond the classroom. The response from the students made the first edition a meaningful beginning.”
