Caution: Chamera-III Dam Flushing Scheduled July 22–23

The Chamera-III Power Station at Khadamukh, Chamba, will release water from 11:00 PM on July 22 to 1:00 PM on July 23, depending on the reservoir’s inflow. The process, known as silt flushing, involves gradually opening the dam gates until the river reaches a free-flowing state. Authorities have warned that water levels in the Ravi River downstream may rise. Residents will be alerted through sirens, vehicle announcements, and messages to panchayat heads.
