BUEST students shine at national AI innovation challenge

Students of Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology delivered an outstanding performance at the prestigious AI Nexus 2026 National Innovation Challenge, bringing pride and recognition to the university on the national stage. The competition, organised at Chandigarh University on April 20 and 21, witnessed participation from talented engineering teams from universities across India.
Representing BUEST, the team “Elite Engineers” secured an impressive 8th position among the top 38 finalist teams after competing in multiple rounds of innovation, technical presentation and problem-solving challenges. The achievement highlighted the students’ creativity, technical expertise and ability to develop innovative solutions in the rapidly growing field of Artificial Intelligence.
The team comprised Kamakshi Sharma of B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, along with Adit Mahajan, Anshit Sharma and Sahil Chauhan from B.Tech CSE (AI & ML). Their project and presentation received appreciation from the jury for originality, teamwork and practical application of AI-driven ideas.
To celebrate the achievement, the university organised a felicitation ceremony on campus where the students were honoured by senior faculty members and university officials. During the event, the students were presented with certificates and mementoes in recognition of their remarkable accomplishment.
University authorities lauded the efforts of the students and said their success reflects the institution’s commitment towards academic excellence, innovation and industry-oriented learning. They added that participation in national-level competitions helps students gain practical exposure, confidence and valuable experience beyond classroom education.
Faculty members of the Computer Science department also congratulated the team and expressed confidence that the students would continue to excel in future technological and research competitions.
The achievement has become a moment of pride for the university community and serves as an inspiration for aspiring engineers to pursue innovation and excellence in emerging technologies.
