Bhoranj’s Shammi Becomes Entrepreneur with Government Support
1 min readHamirpur, November 10: Rather than chasing jobs in government or private sectors, opting for self-employment can pave the way for establishing one’s own business. This not only ensures self-sufficiency but also creates employment opportunities for others, securing livelihoods for future generations.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Himachal Pradesh government is supporting aspiring entrepreneurs through the Chief Minister Swavalamban Yojana, offering low-interest loans and substantial subsidies. Taking advantage of this initiative, many youths have transformed their entrepreneurial dreams into reality, creating job opportunities in the process.
One such success story is that of Shammi from Bhoranj subdivision, Hamirpur. A mechanical engineering graduate, Shammi worked at an automobile agency but found the job unfulfilling due to low wages and limited time for his family. Despite the aspiration to start his own venture, he struggled due to a lack of funds. Upon learning about the Swavalamban Yojana, Shammi prepared a project proposal and applied online.
He received approval and a loan of approximately ₹39 lakh, along with a ₹6 lakh subsidy, enabling him to establish “Component Automobile,” a car service center in Bhoranj. His business has flourished, and he now employs 12 young people, becoming a successful entrepreneur and an inspiration for others.
