99 Cases Approved Under PMFME Scheme in Shimla to Boost Food Processing Units

Shimla, April 20: Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap approved 99 new cases under the PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme during a district-level meeting held today.
Officials informed that these cases were recommended to banks between December 27, 2025 and March 31, 2026 for loan disbursement. Earlier, 780 cases had been forwarded to banks between April and December 2025. Since the launch of the scheme, a total of 3026 applications have been received, out of which 2079 loans have been sanctioned, while 73 cases are under process.
Under the scheme, a subsidy of 40% is provided for setting up grading and packaging units costing up to ₹25 lakh. In Shimla district, around 2080 such units have already been established.
The Deputy Commissioner urged youth to take maximum benefit of the scheme and become self-reliant by setting up their own food processing units.
