746 Children Benefit Under CM Sukh Ashray Yojana in Kangra: DC

Dharamshala, August 5: A total of 746 orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable children in Kangra district benefited from the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana, with ₹7.33 crore spent during the last financial year, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa said while reviewing Women and Child Development Department schemes.

The DC said financial assistance under the scheme included ₹2.94 crore for housing, ₹2.56 crore for marriage grants, ₹90.91 lakh for social security, ₹48.85 lakh for higher education, ₹39.20 lakh for self-employment, and ₹4.43 lakh for competitive exam coaching. He also directed officials to identify deserving beneficiaries, ensure timely delivery of welfare schemes, and extend additional support to talented underprivileged children through government initiatives and NGOs.
