Stresses Eco-Friendly Pilgrimage
Chamba (Bharmour), August 5: Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal reviewed preparations for Shri Manimahesh Yatra 2026, inspecting facilities for pilgrims from Hadsar to Dal Lake Manimahesh. He directed officials to ensure timely completion of infrastructure works, including repairs to bridges, roads, trekking routes, drinking water, sanitation, accommodation, security, and waste management.
The DC announced a ban on the sale of small plastic water bottles, snack packets, and tobacco products along the pilgrimage route to protect the fragile ecosystem of the Manimahesh Valley. He urged shopkeepers to support environmental conservation and appealed to devotees to complete mandatory registration and check weather conditions before starting the pilgrimage.
