35 Gram Panchayats in Kullu Honoured for Outstanding Performance in TB-Free Campaign

Kullu, August 17: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADM) Kullu Surjeet Singh Rathore honoured 35 gram panchayats of the district with certificates and mementos for their outstanding performance under the ‘TB-Free Gram Panchayat Campaign 2025’.

The special programme, organised by the Health Department, recognised panchayats from different development blocks for their sustained efforts towards tuberculosis (TB) elimination and improvement of public health services. The panchayats were honoured in Gold, Silver and Bronze categories based on their performance in maintaining TB-free status.
Under the campaign, panchayats that remained TB-free continuously for three years were awarded the Gold category, those maintaining the status for two consecutive years received the Silver category, while panchayats that remained TB-free for one year were recognised under the Bronze category.

Banin Panchayat of Ani block and Dehra Panchayat of Nirmand block recorded the highest performance and received the Gold category mementos.

In the Silver category, Behna, Jaban, Pokhari and Karana panchayats of Ani block, along with Bakhan Panchayat of Nirmand block, were honoured for their achievements.

In addition, 28 gram panchayats from Banjar, Jari, Naggar, Ani and Nirmand blocks were presented Bronze category mementos and certificates in recognition of their commendable efforts towards TB prevention and control.

Addressing the gathering, ADM Surjeet Singh Rathore congratulated the representatives of the honoured panchayats and health workers. He emphasised that gram panchayats have a crucial role to play in making society free from tuberculosis.

He urged other panchayats to draw inspiration from the recognised villages and actively participate in the public health campaign. Collective efforts at the grassroots level, he said, would be essential to achieving the goal of making Kullu district completely TB-free.
