Three-Day Entrepreneurship Development Programme Held at JUIT

Solan, October 8: A three-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme was organised at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Solan, from October 5 to 7 by the Technology Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (TIEDC), in association with the Directorate of Industries, Shimla.

The programme was conducted under the Government of India’s Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative, with NITCON Ltd., a government PSU, serving as the implementation authority.

Participants received practical exposure to identifying business ideas, market research, government schemes, MSME registration, Business Model Canvas, business planning, intellectual property rights, funding, branding and business pitching.

In the inaugural session, JUIT Vice Chancellor Prof. R.K. Sharma encouraged participants to develop an innovative outlook and convert ideas into viable entrepreneurial ventures.

During the valedictory session, Vinay Kumar Verma, Manager, District Industries Centre, Solan, briefed participants on government support mechanisms, MSME initiatives and opportunities for entrepreneurs.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Ashish Kumar, Chairman, TIEDC and Head, Department of Civil Engineering, JUIT. The programme provided participants with exposure to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and encouraged them to explore innovation, startups and entrepreneurship as career opportunities.
