16-Year-Old Girl Found Dead in Irrigation Tank in Mandi

A tragic incident occurred in Sayu village of Salapar, Mandi, where the body of a 16-year-old girl, identified as Shailja Thakur, was discovered on Saturday. Shailja, a Class 10 student, reportedly went to her room for studying after dinner on Friday night but was found missing the next morning.
Her family searched for her and reported her missing to the Salapar police post. Later, her body was found in a neighbor’s irrigation tank. Police from Sundernagar police station and Salapar police post took custody of the body and transported it to the Civil Hospital Sundernagar for a post-mortem.
DSP Sundernagar Bharat Bhushan confirmed that the body has been taken into custody, and a post-mortem will be conducted on Sunday. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway.
