“Himachal Pradesh Celebrates World Ozone Day with Enthusiasm in Shimla”
Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, September 16, 2023 – The Himachal Pradesh State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment (HIMCOSTE) observed World Ozone Day with fervor at the HIMCOSTE PC Hub in Shogi, Shimla, this year. The event witnessed active participation from 84 children representing eight prominent schools in Shimla city: GGSSS Portmore, GGSSS Lakkar Bazar, DV Lakkar Bazar Shimla, GBSSS Lalpani, Auckland House School, Lakkar Bazar, Loreto Convent, Tara Hall, and GGSSS Chhota Shimla.
These young participants engaged in a variety of activities including painting, slogan creation, quizzes, and skits centered around the theme of ozone layer protection. The chief guest, Mr. D.C. Rana, Secretary Member HIMCOSTE, took the opportunity to impart detailed knowledge about the ozone layer to the children. He also felicitated the winners of various competitions with certificates and momentos.

Mr. Satpal Dheeman, Joint Secretary Member HIMCOSTE, addressed the children, emphasizing the importance of fostering an interest in science and understanding the impact of the ozone layer on our lives.
Dr. S.S. Randhawa, Principal Scientific Officer, Mrs. Deepshikha Kaur, Senior Scientific Officer, Mr. Manoj Kal, Scientific Officer, and the HIMCOSTE officials along with the team from the IEESPC Hub were present at the event, making it an informative and inspiring celebration of World Ozone Day in Shimla.
