Mīmāṃsā Tritiya – Children’s Literature Festival 2025 to be held in Shimla from April 18-20
Shimla, April 16, 2025:
The third edition of Mīmāṃsā – Children’s Literature Festival, organized by the Department of Language & Culture, Himachal Pradesh in collaboration with Keekli Charitable Trust, will be held from April 18 to 20, 2025, at the Gaiety Theatre, Shimla. The three-day event is an open platform for children to celebrate books, creativity, and imagination through interactive literary sessions, workshops, and competitions.
Renowned author Devdutt Pattanaik will grace the closing day as Chief Guest, while celebrated illustrator Priya Kuriyan will inaugurate the festival. Veteran actor and author Sohaila Kapur will be the Guest of Honour. The event is open to all children, including those not participating through schools. Winners will receive cash prizes, and all participants will be awarded certificates and souvenir tokens.
Over the years, Mīmāṃsā has witnessed growing enthusiasm and participation. Prominent guests from past editions include Khyrunnisa A, Benita Sen, Sutapa Basu, and Rupa Pai. This year, the lineup includes authors like Jyotsna Atre, Kishan Shreemaan, Preeti Sharma Aseem, Sonia Dogra, Harini Srininvasan, and Dr. Sona Sharma, among others.
Festival activities will include book reviews, wordplay, art workshops, and creative writing sessions. Children under 25 from schools, colleges, and universities are welcome. The goal is to foster a love for reading, encourage expression, and promote literary talent.

- Poetry reading by Prof. Meenakshi F. Paul and Dinesh Sharma

- Audio-visual presentation by Sohaila Kapur on the Anand brothers – Dev, Chetan & Vijay (April 19)
