St Thomas’ School Hosts VBYLD Registration and Drug-Free Youth Awareness Programme
Shimla, September 23: A registration drive for the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) and an awareness programme on “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” were organised at St Thomas’ School, Shimla, under the aegis of MY Bharat and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
The programme aimed to encourage students to register through the MY Bharat portal for the National Youth Festival 2027 and participate in the VBYLD quiz, while creating awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
Principal Sharon Nanda presided over the programme, while Vipin Kumar, Deputy Director, MY Bharat Shimla, participated as the resource person. He interacted with students and explained the harmful effects of substance abuse and ways to prevent it.
Youth Tourism Club Coordinator Surender Sharma highlighted the physical, mental and social impact of drug abuse and urged students to adopt positive lifestyles and contribute to building a drug-free society.
Students Sargam, Nitika and Chahat Verma also shared their views and sensitised peers about drug abuse and e-waste. The interactive participation of students added to the effectiveness of the programme.
