Newly Elected Panchayat Representatives Urged to Ensure Effective Implementation of Schemes
Solan, September 17, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Solan Manmohan Sharma said the role of panchayat representatives is crucial in implementing government schemes and resolving people’s grievances at the grassroots level.
Addressing the concluding ceremony of a four-day training programme for newly elected Pradhans and Up-Pradhans of Gram Panchayats in Nalagarh Development Block, Sharma urged the representatives to work with transparency, accountability and public participation.
He emphasized prioritising rural development, social welfare, drinking water, cleanliness, libraries, Anganwadi centres and community facilities. He also called for greater awareness against drug abuse and encouraged Panchayats to resolve minor local disputes at their level under the Panchayati Raj Act.
During the training, officials and experts briefed the representatives on the Panchayati Raj Act, Rules, financial and administrative procedures, Panchayat responsibilities and implementation of development schemes. जिला Panchayat Officer Solan Joginder Singh Rana and retired Panchayat Inspector Jaichand Kaushal also addressed the participants.
