HPNLU Students Participate in Drug-Free India Pledge under “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” Campaign

Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, organized the Drug-Free India Pledge Ceremony on 20 August 2026 at the University as part of the nationwide “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” campaign being implemented by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The programme was conducted under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU, Shimla, with the objective of promoting awareness among youth regarding the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraging a collective commitment towards a drug-free society.

The initiative sought to strengthen the vision of a Drug-Free India by 2047 by mobilizing students to actively participate in creating awareness and fostering responsible lifestyles. During the programme, students took the Drug-Free India Pledge and reaffirmed their commitment to abstaining from substance abuse and contributing towards a healthier and more responsible society.

The programme encouraged students to become ambassadors of the movement and spread awareness regarding the dangers of drug abuse among their peers and communities. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and reflected HPNLU’s continued commitment to promoting social responsibility, public awareness, and youth engagement in national initiatives. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Deepika Gautam, Faculty of Management and Associate Dean Students Welfare (Women), HPNLU, Shimla.
