133 ECO TA Joins ‘Surya Green – Himalayan Odyssey’ to Strengthen Environmental Awareness

Kufri, June 12: Reinforcing its commitment to ecological conservation and community engagement, the 133 Ecological Task Force (Paryavarani) participated in a plantation and environmental awareness drive at Kufri as part of the ongoing “Know Your TA” campaign.
The initiative was conducted in collaboration with participants of the ‘Surya Green – Himalayan Odyssey’, representatives of Tata EV, and students of Government Senior Secondary School, Kufri. The programme forms part of the Himalayan Odyssey expedition, which was flagged off from Kasauli under the aegis of Surya Command with the objective of promoting environmental consciousness, sustainable practices and stronger ties between the Armed Forces and local communities.
During the event, personnel of 133 ECO TA, expedition members and students planted saplings and took part in interactive awareness sessions focusing on the protection of the fragile Himalayan ecosystem. The activities highlighted the importance of afforestation, biodiversity conservation and responsible environmental stewardship.
Students enthusiastically joined the campaign and pledged to care for the saplings, while participants emphasized the need for sustainable lifestyles and eco-friendly solutions, including clean mobility initiatives, to safeguard natural resources for future generations.
Officials present on the occasion underlined that environmental conservation is a collective responsibility and stressed the importance of community participation in preserving the region’s ecological balance. They noted that plantation drives not only enhance green cover but also inspire greater environmental awareness among young people.
The programme reflected the shared commitment of 133 ECO TA and its partners towards creating a greener, cleaner and more sustainable Himalayan region through awareness, action and community involvement.
