Women Entrepreneurs Provided a Platform for Funding and Networking

The District Industries Centre (DIC), Shimla, organized a one-day Funding and Networking Meet along with an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme in Shimla. The programme was conducted through NITCON Limited and witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 55 women entrepreneurs from across the district.
The programme was organized as an initiative of the Department of Industries and was chaired by Mr. Surender Sharma, Extension Officer (EO), District Industries Centre (DIC), Shimla. The primary objective of the programme was to provide women entrepreneurs with information on financial assistance, create awareness about various government schemes, and offer necessary guidance to connect them with suitable marketing platforms.
Women entrepreneurs actively participated in the Funding and Networking Meet. The enthusiasm, engagement, and eagerness to learn demonstrated by the participants clearly reflected their determination to move forward on the path of self-reliance and empowerment.
During the programme, participants were provided with practical and useful information regarding banking services, loan sanction procedures, various government subsidy and incentive schemes, insurance schemes, Udyam registration, and digital and online registration processes.
The programme was attended by representatives from various departments and institutions. Among those present were Mr. Parikshit Gangta from the LDM Office and UCO Bank, Mrs. Hemlata Verma, District Programme Manager, DRDA-NRLM, women entrepreneur Mrs. Rachna Shakya, and officers and staff of the Department of Industries.
The programme was organized under Component-7, “Social Inclusion,” of the RAMP Project. Its objective was to strengthen the financial access of women entrepreneurs, effectively connect them with government schemes, and facilitate sustainable livelihoods and market linkages.
The programme proved to be a strong, practical, and meaningful initiative towards making women entrepreneurs self-reliant.
