Solan: Secretary of Prashant Singh Negi said that the Supreme Court of India launched the “Samadhan Ceremony 2026” campaign on April 21 with the objective of making justice more accessible to the common public through mutual settlement and mediation.
He informed that under this special initiative, disputes and pending cases are being resolved through dialogue, mediation and mutual consent. The campaign will culminate with the organisation of Special Lok Adalats at the Supreme Court premises on August 21, 22 and 23, 2026.
Prashant Singh Negi said mediation and conciliation meetings under the campaign have already commenced from April 21 at mediation centres established under High Courts, State, District and Taluka Legal Services Authorities and Committees across the country.
He stated that trained mediators and legal services officials are assisting parties in reaching amicable settlements. Parties concerned can participate in these proceedings either physically or through virtual mode.
The Secretary appealed to advocates and litigants to actively participate in the campaign and take advantage of the opportunity to settle their pending disputes through the special Lok Adalat initiative.
He further informed that a simplified Google Form has been made available on the official website of the Supreme Court of India for including pending matters under the “Samadhan Ceremony Special Lok Adalat 2026.” The last date for submission of applications is May 31, 2026.
