Anurag Thakur Slams Sukhu Over EVM Remarks, Calls It ‘Sign of Frustration’

Shimla, May 05: Anurag Singh Thakur strongly criticized Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu over his remarks on EVMs following BJP’s electoral victories, calling them “irresponsible” and reflective of political frustration.
Thakur said questioning electronic voting machines and constitutional institutions after electoral defeats has become a pattern for the opposition. “Political battles should be fought on ideology and public support, not by undermining institutions,” he remarked.
He pointed out that governments, including the Congress-led one in Himachal Pradesh, were elected through the same EVM process, questioning the “double standards” in selectively raising doubts. Referring to recent election outcomes, he said the BJP’s victories reflected the clear mandate of the people.
Taking a sharp dig, Thakur added that instead of introspection, the opposition continues to blame EVMs and institutions for its losses. He concluded with a pointed remark: “The dust was on your face, yet you kept cleaning the mirror.”
