₹6,000 Crore Being Spent on Roads in Himachal: Minister Vikramaditya Singh

Shimla, April 19: Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that nearly ₹6,000 crore is being spent on road infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh out of ₹8,500 crore brought from the Centre. He emphasized that the government is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the state’s development and moving towards self-reliance.

The minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone of the Totu–Kyar road in Girab Khurd panchayat under Shimla Rural constituency. The project, with an estimated cost of ₹90 lakh, will soon begin with metalling work after receiving necessary clearances.

He also assured efforts to address water scarcity in the area and highlighted ongoing development works, including road projects worth ₹8.5 crore in the region.

Calling for responsible governance, the minister urged voters to rise above party lines and elect capable candidates in the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections, stressing that strong local leadership benefits overall development.
