Labour Welfare Board Emerging as Strong Support for Workers in Shimla

Shimla, April 19: The Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board is proving to be a major support system for labourers by extending financial and social security benefits through various welfare schemes.

A resident of Dhami, Munish Sharma, received financial assistance of ₹51,000 for marriage, significantly easing the financial burden. Beneficiaries have credited the initiative to the state government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for supporting workers’ families.

Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap urged eligible workers to register and avail benefits under various schemes. Labour Welfare Officer Shreya Sharma informed that in Shimla zone alone, ₹50.84 lakh has been disbursed among 98 beneficiaries so far.

The board provides assistance in areas such as health, education, pensions, maternity benefits, and tools, aiming to improve the socio-economic conditions of workers and their families.
