Shimla, March 12: Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap has clarified that there is no shortage of domestic LPG, petrol or diesel in Shimla district, and supplies are continuing regularly. He urged people not to panic or indulge in unnecessary stocking of fuel or LPG cylinders.
The DC reviewed the supply situation through a video conference with all Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) and representatives of oil marketing companies. He said adequate stock of petroleum products is available and the administration is closely monitoring the situation.
Kashyap informed that, as a precautionary measure, commercial LPG supply is currently being prioritized for hospitals and educational institutions, while other commercial establishments may temporarily face restrictions. Such establishments can alternatively submit requests for kerosene or coal to the District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
He directed all SDMs to conduct regular inspections of petrol pumps and gas agencies, assess stock availability and ensure that petrol or diesel is not sold in cans to prevent hoarding. They were also asked to check misuse of domestic LPG cylinders in hotels and restaurants.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to citizens to remain calm, follow booking rules for LPG cylinders and cooperate with the administration to ensure smooth supply of essential commodities.
