Shimla, Feb 13, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap interacted with trained Disaster Mitras and distributed disaster response kits, highlighting their vital role as first responders during emergencies. He said trained volunteers strengthen rescue operations, community awareness and rapid response during natural disasters such as landslides, heavy rains and earthquakes. The initiative, supported by the National Disaster Management Authority, aims to equip local youth with skills in search and rescue, first aid and safe evacuation, making Shimla more prepared and resilient.
