Shimla:
Member of Parliament from the Shimla Parliamentary Constituency, Suresh Kashyap, informed that the Central Government has approved 92 road projects under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY-IV) for the constituency, involving an investment of ₹637.20 crore. The projects cover a total length of 451.19 kilometers and will directly benefit 149 villages in the region.
Suresh Kashyap said the scheme is a historic step towards strengthening rural connectivity. It will significantly ease transportation for farmers, orchardists, students, and the general public, while also boosting agriculture, horticulture, and the rural economy.
He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has consistently prioritized Himachal Pradesh and promoted development without discrimination. The approval reflects the Centre’s strong commitment to the development of the state’s remote and hilly areas.
The MP expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for this major achievement. He urged the State Government to ensure timely, transparent, and high-quality execution of the projects so that people can derive long-term benefits.
He added that a strong road network will not only make rural life easier but will also play a crucial role in disaster management, tourism promotion, and employment generation.
