Landslide Rescue Continues in Inner Akhada, Kullu Amid Heavy Rain

Kullu, September 3: Rescue operations continued in Inner Akhada following a landslide caused by heavy rainfall. The incident occurred around 11:45 PM on Tuesday near a building in Inner Akhada Market, trapping two people while one person was safely rescued during the operation.
Deputy Commissioner Torul S. Ravish and SP Kartikeyan Gokulchandran personally oversaw the search and rescue efforts. Initial reports indicate that an NDRF member and two Kashmiri laborers were in the building; one laborer escaped through a window, while another was trapped.
Despite ongoing heavy rain, the rescue operations continued on Wednesday morning. The Deputy Commissioner inspected damaged roads on Akhada-Sultanpur route, various landslide-affected areas, and the Akhada Bailey Bridge. Department officials were directed to ensure relief, rescue, and restoration services. Citizens have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution if travel is unavoidable.
