India Makes Big Strides in Space Sector Under Modi Government: Anurag Thaku

Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, addressed students at PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pekhubela, on *National Space Day*. He highlighted India’s remarkable progress in the space sector under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Thakur recalled the success of *Chandrayaan-3* in 2023, when India became the first nation to land near the Moon’s southern pole. He praised PM Modi’s vision for opening up the space sector, noting that India’s space economy is projected to grow from \$8 billion to \$44 billion in the coming years.

He also mentioned key achievements, including the Aditya L1 solar mission, the launch of 104 satellites in one flight, 400 foreign satellites launched by PSLV, the private rocket Vikram S, and advancements in RLV and docking experiments. He said the government has approved ₹20,193 crore for *Gaganyaan* and aims to establish an Indian Space Station by 2035 and a crewed lunar landing by 2040.
