DPS Shimla Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour
Shimla, August 15, 2026: The management and students of Delhi Public School (DPS), Shimla, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. A special assembly presented by students of Classes IV, V and VI reflected the values of freedom, unity and love for the nation.
Students of Classes I-A and I-B presented vibrant patriotic dance performances, adding colour and energy to the celebrations. A declamation competition was also organised, providing students an opportunity to express their views on patriotism, national pride and the responsibilities of responsible citizens.
The highlight of the programme was the Nukkad Natak, “Hum Sab Deshbhakt Banenge,” presented by students of Classes III to V. Through the performance, students conveyed that true patriotism is demonstrated through responsible actions, choices and commitment towards the nation.
The programme was also graced by Sant Ram Bhikta, a retired Army personnel and proud grandparent, whose presence added significance to the occasion.
Addressing the students, Headmistress Veena Chauhan highlighted the importance of patriotism, unity and civic responsibility. She encouraged students to nurture a strong sense of national pride and contribute positively to society.
The celebration concluded on the inspiring theme of “Nation First,” with the DPS Shimla community coming together to honour India’s freedom, values and shared responsibilities.
