HPERC Announces New Electricity Tariff for FY 2025-26

The Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC) has released the new electricity tariff structure for FY 2025-26. The commission has estimated an Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) of ₹8,403 crore for HPSEBL after adjustments. The average cost of supply has been set at ₹6.76 per unit.

Key changes include:

• A 15 paise per unit reduction in domestic energy charges.
• Commercial rates (up to 20 kVA) reduced by 12 paise per unit.
• Industrial rates cut by 20 paise per unit to boost industrialization.
• A single slab for domestic consumers exceeding 126 units/month to promote electricity consumption.
• No changes in fixed/demand charges for consumers.

The revised tariff rates will be effective from April 1, 2025.
