Revised Traffic Management Plan Notified for Theog Market

Shimla, September 30: To streamline traffic and ensure public convenience and safety in Theog town, Shimla District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap has notified a revised traffic management plan under Sections 115 and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

The plan specifies designated parking areas, loading and unloading points, bus stops, no-parking zones, one-way traffic routes and restrictions on the entry of heavy vehicles in Theog.

Parking spaces have been earmarked at several locations, including the Theog Bypass (NH-05) between Rahighat and Premghat for up to 100 light vehicles, along with designated spaces at Verma Complex, Premghat Chowk, Forest Office Road and Old Bailey Bridge. Parking has also been designated for heavy vehicles on the bypass near Rahighat.

For taxis, four light vehicles can be parked at the New Bus Stand, three at the Old Bus Stand and one at the Civil Hospital premises. A loading and unloading point has been designated near Hotel Hidimba, with the activity permitted before 8 am and after 8 pm.

Several stretches have been declared no-parking zones, including areas from Janog Ghat towards Rampur, Janog Ghat to Premghat Chowk, the HDFC Bank-Premghat stretch towards Rahighat, the Civil Hospital approach road and Rahighat Chowk to Rajan Tyre.
