National Mathematics Day celebrated at Shoolini University

In honour of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, Yogananda School of AI, Computer and Data Sciences, Shoolini University, in collaboration with the mathematics club, Sanchay, Shoolini University celebrated National Mathematics Day with a series of engaging events.
The celebration commenced with an aptitude quiz hosted on the university’s eUniv platform. The quiz challenged participants with 30 thought-provoking questions to be solved within 25 minutes. A total of 54 students from various departments participated and showcased their mathematical prowess.
The highlight of the event was a webinar featuring guest speaker Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vats, Associate Professor at NIT Hamirpur. Dr. Vats delivered lecture on Srinivasa Ramanujan’s life and his groundbreaking contributions to mathematics. He also introduced students to the ancient wisdom of Vedic mathematics, explaining its 16 sutras and their practical applications in modern life.
The celebrations concluded with the announcement of the quiz winners by Sanchay president Anshika Jain. Mohit Kumar, a first-year B.Tech (CSE) student, emerged as the champion, while Paarth Sarthi, a first-year B.Tech (CSE AI) student, secured the second position. Richa, a second-year B.Tech (Bioinformatics) student, claimed the runner-up spot. The winners were awarded certificates and cash prizes, while all participants received certificates of participation. The awards were presented by Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla.
The Associate Dean Student Welfare, Prof. Neeraj Gandotra shared, that the celebration of National Mathematics Day was insightful and engaging.
The webinar was organised and Coordinated by Dr. Sahil Kashyap , Dr, Kanika, Dr, Sushil Kumar and other faculty members of the School.
