Shimla Dec 09 : Hamirpur MP and former Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur criticized the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government for its repeated failures, drawing sharp rebukes from the judiciary. Referring to the Supreme Court’s censure over neglecting the rights of differently-abled individuals, Thakur remarked that the current government has grown accustomed to judicial reprimands without showing any signs of improvement.
Thakur slammed the government as the “most incompetent and shameless” in the state’s history, pointing to its policies that have drawn ire from the public and ridicule from the judiciary. He highlighted recent cases, including the High Court’s condemnation for failing to support gold medalist Pooja Thakur and the attachment order of Himachal Bhawan in Delhi due to administrative lapses.
Thakur also criticized the Supreme Court’s observation about the government’s failure to represent Divyang interests adequately. Highlighting the High Court’s directive to shut down 18 loss-making HPTDC hotels, he accused the government of mismanaging the state’s tourism sector, once a hallmark of Himachal’s identity.
Concluding, Thakur questioned the government’s priorities, alleging that it has failed to satisfy any democratic pillar while extravagantly celebrating its two-year tenure amidst mounting public discontent.
