Case Registered Against Temple Priest for Alleged Misconduct with Young Woman

Shimla: A distressing incident of alleged misconduct and harassment has come to light in a temple under the jurisdiction of the Baluganj police station in the capital city of Shimla. A 20-year-old woman, who had gone to perform service at the Durga Temple, was reportedly subjected to inappropriate behavior by the temple priest.

The young woman filed a complaint with the police regarding the incident. The police have registered a case against the priest for misconduct and initiated an investigation into the matter. The incident occurred at the Durga Temple located near the ISBT Bus Stand. According to the complaint lodged by the woman, she was serving at the Durga Temple when the priest engaged in objectionable behavior towards her. When she protested, the priest allegedly threatened her with dire consequences.

Taking swift action on the victim’s complaint, the Baluganj police have registered a case against the priest under sections 354, 354A, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. However, the accused has not been arrested yet. It has been revealed that the accused hails from Uttarakhand.
