Forest Department Organizes One-Day Workshop for Frontline Staff on Rescue and Release Procedures

On November 4, 2023, the Wildlife Division of the Forest Department organized a one-day workshop on rescue and release procedures for the frontline staff of the Forest Department. The workshop took place at the RRSC-Tutikandi, Shimla, and was attended by Mr. Anil Thakur, Additional Chief Wildlife Warden, as the chief guest.
A total of 32 participants from 14 forest circles attended the workshop. Dr. Karan, a Veterinary Officer, provided detailed information on rescue and release procedures to the participants. He acquainted them with the tools and techniques used in these processes.
Mr. Anil Thakur emphasized that the primary objective of this workshop is to equip the frontline staff of the Forest Department with the skills and knowledge necessary to make rescue and release processes for wildlife successful. This training will enable them to be fully capable of handling rescue and release operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of wild animals in case of human-wildlife conflicts in any part of Himachal Pradesh.
He encouraged all the participants to gain a thorough understanding of rescue and release procedures and the use of various tools so that they can play a crucial role in the rescue and protection of wildlife. Their training and expertise will be instrumental in any rescue and release operation involving wild animals.
