Doordarshan Becomes Official Broadcaster for Hockey India League 2024-25

Shimla Dec 12 : Doordarshan, India’s National Broadcaster, has partnered with the Hockey India League (HIL) for its 2024-25 season, marking a historic debut for the Women’s HIL alongside the men’s competition. The league begins on 28th December 2024, featuring 8 men’s teams and 4 women’s teams competing in Rourkela and Ranchi.

This collaboration aims to make hockey a nationwide celebration, with Doordarshan’s extensive reach ensuring live telecasts of all matches, bridging urban and rural audiences. Hockey India League Chairperson Dr. Dilip Tirkey hailed the partnership as a milestone for gender inclusivity and sports promotion.

The partnership extends beyond HIL to include live coverage of all Hockey India National Championships, amplifying the sport’s reach across India.
