Voting for MC elections on May 2, model code of conduct in force

Shimla, April 03 .- Himachal Pradesh Election Commission has released the schedule for the election of Municipal Corporation Shimla. Along with this, the schedule of the by-election in ward number two of MC Palampur has also been released. With this, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force in Shimla Municipal Corporation area, which will remain in force till the completion of the election process.
According to the released schedule, nomination papers can be filed on April 13, 17 and 18 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on April 19. Candidates will be able to withdraw their nominations on April 21. The final list of candidates along with election symbols will be released on April 21 itself. The list of polling stations will be issued on or before April 13. Voting for the election will be held on May 2 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. After the counting of votes on May 4, the election results will be declared at the municipal headquarters. The election process will be completed by May 6. A notification in this regard has been issued by State Election Commissioner Anil Kumar Khachi.
